Salvia sclarea is a biennial or short-lived perennial herb, growing up to 1 meter (3 ft 3 in) tall. It thrives in well-drained soils—whether sandy, loamy, or clay—and prefers a sunny spot. Its beautiful flowers bloom in August, attracting bees and beneficial insects. The plant is hardy and noted for its wildlife-friendly nature.
